SUMMER IN THISTLE GLEN
The long summer days in Thistle Glen seemed to last forever. Golden sunshine spilled across the Highland meadows, wildflowers danced in the warm breeze, and every winding path led to another little adventure waiting to be discovered.
Luna and Travis spent their days exploring the glen with their faithful friends—Shelly the curious silver tabby, Hamish the cheerful Westie, Scottie the thoughtful Scottish Terrier, gentle Bonnie, and all the woodland creatures who called the Highlands home. Together they wandered through cottage gardens bursting with flowers, shared picnics beneath old apple trees, searched for hidden treasures in the woods, and filled every day with laughter, kindness, and a little touch of magic.
As the weeks passed, baskets grew heavier with ripe berries, the orchards filled with apples and pears, and a cool breeze began to whisper through the trees. None of them realised it yet, but the glen was quietly preparing for a new season.
Soon, a special invitation would arrive, calling everyone back to Heatherbank Halt, where fresh adventures, familiar faces, and wonderful new friends were waiting.
And so, with hearts full of happy summer memories, the next chapter was ready to begin...
Summer at Thistle Glen
The Little Highland Express gave one final cheerful whistle before disappearing around the bend, leaving only the soft scent of steam and wildflowers drifting through the warm Highland air.
Luna and Travis stood quietly for a moment, taking it all in.
Before them stretched Thistle Glen, bathed in golden summer sunshine. Harebells danced among the grasses, foxgloves nodded gently in the breeze, and the Grand Rowan Mother spread her great green branches like welcoming arms over the heart of the Glen.
A familiar robin fluttered down onto an old wooden gate.
It was Rowan.
Clutched carefully in his tiny beak was not a mysterious map or a forgotten ticket this time, but a simple handwritten invitation.
"Come and see the Glen in bloom."
Waiting beneath the ancient tree were new friends and warm smiles.
Bonnie had packed a picnic hamper overflowing with buttery shortbread, fresh scones and jars of her famous Brumel Preserve. Bottles of sparkling Thistle Bru gleamed in the sunshine, while Shelly, Hamish and Scottie were already chasing butterflies through the meadow. Nearby, Fergus laughed as Pip tried to carry a brumel almost bigger than himself, and Bramble carefully filled his little cart with berries gathered from the hedgerows.
There were no trains to catch, no maps to follow and no mysteries to solve.
Only long summer afternoons, wildflower meadows, berry-stained fingers, stories shared beneath the Grand Rowan Mother, and the quiet joy of discovering that home is not simply a place you arrive at...
...it's the place where friends are waiting for you.
Welcome to Summer at Thistle Glen, where every flower has a story, every picnic is made with love, and every golden day becomes a treasured memory.
